Pedro Regis

Pedro Regis, a psychologically healthy and very devout man, has been receiving regular messages via visions of “Our Lady of Anguera” (a municipality in Brazil) since 1987, which total over 5,200 as of this writing. She is like Our Lady of Medjugorje of the Southern Hemisphere, giving simple, often repetitive messages for over 30 years. Conversion, reconciliation, the Bible, prayer, and the Eucharist are important in the messages, as with Our Lady of Medjugorje, and She is likewise known in Anguera, too, as the Queen of Peace. The Sacrament of Penance and personal conversions are very popular there, and also, as with Medjugorje, there are very many priestly and religious vocations resulting from the private revelation.

The local archbishop, Zanoni Demettino Castro, has been quite supportive of Pedro Regis, even appearing publicly with the visionary in Anguera and blessing the pilgrims there. It is most extraordinary for a local prelate to do such things while a private revelation is ongoing – he even gave a positive interview on the phenomenon. It is not surprising, then, that he has set up a commission to evaluate the phenomenon. The content of the messages is thoroughly orthodox.

Most extraordinarily, Our Lady even promised a day in advance to give a miraculous sign of authenticity. The next day, November 2, 1991, he wrote down the nearly two-hour message on his knees on 130 pre-numbered pages – miraculously, the message was exactly 130 pages in length. The crowd present that day was about 8,000, including journalists. This message is featured on his website. In 2005 and 2006 Our Lady warned numerous times about today’s pandemic.

At this point, there is no reason to think this private revelation is inauthentic…
