Yesterday, December 27, 2022, after briefly viewing a video that in effect put words in the mouth of Our Lady of Medjugorje, I decided to write this short article. This is because there is also a website that has been doing this for a long time. These two media outlets – one a YouTube channel and one a website – neither of which will I name, have irresponsibly “added” words: thus, unfaithfully transmitting Our Lady of Medjugorje's actual words. They make connections that are not related to Her messages and they take Her words out of context, misinterpreting them; thus committing the theological error of “eisegesis” – which is interpreting by reading one’s own ideas or preconceptions into a text such as the Bible or a private revelation.
[By the way, this is a constant danger: we must not “mix” private revelations; each has its own “agenda” from heaven and thus there are always different emphases and even discrepancies (which are not the same as contradictions) with other private revelations.]
The real messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje are simple, straightforward, and unsensational. I recommend the following source as the Medjugorje source in English: Medjugorje.org . It may be a plain website, but it scrupulously disseminates the pure messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje. It may not be sensational or entertaining, but Medjugorje.org is the only 100% trustworthy source for Her messages. It was the first Medjugorje website and it remains by far the best because it focuses solely and accurately on the messages and phenomena related to Our Lady of Medjugorje. The translations it publishes are the official English translations from Medjugorje, so there are no weak translations of Her words, which is another issue with other outlets. The website is “pure and simple,” which, in the end, is all Her followers need.
Her messages are not end times messages like other, current and past private revelations. Yes, we know the Ten Secrets suggest there is more that Our Lady of Medjugorje will reveal in God’s time, but the messages are most definitely not end times messages like many others.
People with good intent are perverting the words of Our Lady of Medjugorje by inappropriately mixing them with other, different reported messages from Our Lady and God (or proposing merely human interpretation regarding the Medjugorje messages). I judge no one, but we all must respect the integrity of the messages in a private revelation such as Medjugorje. It is unwise to “chase after messengers” in this way. Just choose one or two private revelations and live them to the hilt; do not vainly search after knowledge about the future by reading messages from numerous private revelations and therefore become confused.
To sum up, Medjugorje.org is a very trustworthy and safe source. Thus, I recommend it as the only truly reliable source for Our Lady of Medjugorje.
